Why did the customer contact us?

The customer had rodents in their attic space and needed new insulation.

 

Solutions provided:

Remove all batted/blown in insulation and fecal matter. Sterifab the entire attic space to disinfect and treat for mites, lice, and bacteria. Remove all trash, closet doors, and extra insulation. Install new baffles at soffit lines. Install an attic tent over entry point.  Air seal any crack, gap, and conduit line for better energy efficiency.  Stuff copper cloth in any possible points of entry for mice. Blow in new cellulose insulation to R49 (14 inches). There is no one hundred percent seal out for mice. Only with a continuous rodent program can the population of the mice be controlled.  Seal out conduit lines and a siding to deck gap on backside of home. One spot on the front of the home where the corner channel and front concrete porch will be sealed. Cap the ends of the ridge vent. Install stainless steel screen on three louvre vents. Install one RVG over the attic fan.  Remove two damaged sections of shingles and replace plywood. Install new shingles to match the existing as best as possible. (Tamko three tab tweed blend) Caulk around one sewage exhaust pipe on backside of roof. Install bait stations around the exterior of the home, garage, utility room, and attic space. Includes a GPC (General pest control spray) around the exterior of the home. Install snap traps and glue boards in the attic space. Track for activity at entry point. (Gable vent ) tech will visit home once a week for four weeks.
